Oh..the last time i blogged was the 1st of this month...and we're going midway now...

Well...many things happened but i just want to share the most important things that occurred.

19th BIRTHDAY

Well, i didn't actually had a plan of celebrating my birthday that's why I decided to join my organization (Economics Society) for an outreach program at Shepherd of the Hills Children Foundation at Camp 7, Baguio City.

The children over there were either orphans or the ones whom their parents are unable to raise anymore. This is a safe and nice place for them.

This project was a joint project of EconSoc and ISIP (Integrated Students in Psychology). We brought some food and played some games to make the most out of this event.

And after that tiring but memorable experience, we went to McDo and had some Sundaes and Fries... It was indeed a day worth remembering.

Before the day ended, my mom and my brother had a surprise visit for me. We went out that night and watched the fireworks display at SM. Then my mom cooked some food for me and my friends at my boarding house as a post-birthday celebration..

So so nice!

I’m turning 19 and there’s still so much to do, so much to learn, so much to try, so much to keep an eye on. I’m too old for parties nevertheless I’m not game on having one either. I just want to relax. Totally. I want to go home but I guess my schedule in school won’t give even a ray of light for this. So it would be enough for me granted this day would be free from any kind of worries – academic or whatsoever. I simply want this day to be happy.)

(Unfortunately since I’ve been to college, I wasn’t able to complete the simbang gabi anymore - primarily because during these times, sleep late at night because of tons of schoolwork given to us. Plus the fact that it’s so, so cold here in Baguio during this month, given that masses are held at dawn. But now, I will try to rise from my bend and see if I can complete it again this year.)

CHRISTMAS DAY!
December 25
(One of the happiest days of the year – the birthday of Jesus. Well, iba ang Pasko sa Pilipinas eh. Noong bata pa kami, of course, mas marami pang handa kasi we still had relatively less expenses by those times. Eh ngayon, 3 kaming nasa college tapos Grade VI yung bunso. But we still keep our best in celebrating this day with a brighter attitude year after year. We’re just happy with the fact that we are always complete during this day. And that is one thing to be thankful about.)

I’m sure that this would be a busy month for a junior like me as well. Maraming requirements na tatapusin before the Christmas break. But I hope I can manage myself good enough. Kaya kailangang magsipag. Kailangan ding magtipid kasi time for gift-giving (though it’s not the value of the gift that would matter, it would still be the thought of giving).

Sana, di na lang matapos ang month na ‘to. Well, just praying that this month will be filled with joy. Naturally, di mawawala ang pressure in the things that we are doing but I hope that the outcomes would compensate the hard work and every bead of sweat sacrificed on those things. And looking forward to a better new year ahead.

...woke up around 7:30 am... ate some breakfast... put some warm water on my bath and there i went. I dressed up, wore my Chucks and prepared myself. Ready to go...

My first class was Soc Sci 197. Our Prof, Ma'am Lelet, just introduced herself and gave the requirements for the class. It was also an SOP during first days to give our classcards, and that was it. We were dismissed early.

Next class will start by 1 pm. Econ 171.

So i have to go and eat some lunch first.

BAD NEWS:

Since class just began... there would be less time for blogging.

I traveled back to Baguio last Monday so i will still have time to rest that night. And oh hell, I really felt sick during he 4-hour ride.

By Tuesday morning, Jenica and I went to the school to get our clearances. And it's a good thing to see that both of us didn't have school accountabilities.

We had an early lunch that's why around 12:15 pm,we were back to school (Juniors were scheduled to enrol in the afternoon ).

This was what I've been through:

I'm still feeling nervous about my thesis proposal. Hope to handle this semester well.

So yesterday afternoon, I travelled back to Tarlac for a few more days of rest before another sem of academic battle.I'll be travelling back on Monday. Class starts on November 17. Oh no. The days are flying. Prayers are deeply appreciated. Thanks!~

It was such a crazy class...but we really learned a lot. About reading, about exploring and seeking something more...

Sembreak officially started!

The bus I took yesterday began it's trip by 12:30pm. After my Econ 141 exam, i packed my things and off i went. On the bus, I met Ate Joy, a 4th year psychology student at PUP, and we began chatting the whole trip. And I bet you she's so nice, inside and out. We even exchanged numbers.

After saying goodbye, I stepped down and went directly to our terminal where my brother fetched me.

I arrived home by 5:20pm (my brother stayed at the park to buy something, he said) and saw my dad at the back of the house.

I slept peacefully for the first time after this semester.

I woke up (or rose, rather) past 9am... took sopas as my breakfast, then read Veronica Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho (which I bought a few months ago, hope i could also watch the film version of it!), ate lunch, read, slept, read again, helped my mom with the laundry stuff, ate dinner then used the Internet by past 11pm.

Woah..

this is what i missed!

Life without rules (much rules i mean...)...

Hope my break would just be fine....

and not over before i knew it!

I'm just starting to have fun!

..At last, roads are more or less fixed...(or passable at least)..
thanks to everyone who prayed.

Food supply is once again becoming stable. Yet, some prices remain relatively high due to what happened. Many of our faculty and the university administrative staff went off on a Relief Mission to the affected areas after collecting and packing the relief goods to be distributed.

What I'm, facing now is my dilemma on all of my exams, papers, presentations and other requirements. I'm having an exam tomorrow morning in Econ 121 (Monetary Economics). Then the rest of the day would be spent in class practice. On Sunday, we will conduct our final presentation on our Humanities class. On Monday, I have my Econ 141 (International Economics) exam plus another paper due.

I hope I would be able to go home on Monday of Tuesday.
I really wanna go home.
I miss the food, the sleep, the Internet, everything about my home.

But before that, I wish my trip home would be trouble and danger-free.
I'm still scared of how the main roads look like.

AT WORLD"S END Part II: Here in the North (Baguio)

...After what happened in Manila, another devastating event occurred on the Philippines. After Ondoy, Pepeng made another fearsome memory for us. Especially for us here at Baguio City (and the Cordillera as a whole) and many other northern and central Luzon regions like Tarlac (my home place), Pangasinan, Ilocos and Isabela.

The heavy rain and strong wind caused many provinces to sink not only in flood but with a thick mass of mud as well. Many landslides also occurred here at Baguio killing hundreds of people.

Classes were suspended until Wednesday by the City Mayor I think. But when I entered our university, tons of donated clothing and other stuffs. The bad thing is that rescue operations are a bit difficult due to the serious damage of the roads.

Another problem that we're facing here is the food shortage. People are being in panic because of what's happening. Prices of good like veggies also tripled even in the market. My housemate said that some food stores at SM are closed as well.

But my biggest problem is my way back home. The Kennon Road is the only passable way so far, but only light vehicles can pass. Hope they can fix Marcos Highway and Naguilan Road soon. I wanna go home and take some rest. I've been planning my sembreak since last month. But if they won't be able to fix the road, I guess I have to stay here longer. It's better that way than risking my life.

By the way, one instructor in school, Sir Ben Muni, and other friends helped some affected areas here at Benguet. He said that it was totally disorienting. Good thing, they were able to raise around Php25,000 yesterday so they were able to buy some cavans of rice, medicine and other basic needs. He said that there was an overflowing clothes donation and at this time, rice and medicine and blankets are what the people need. Some areas, he said, are difficult to reach but they were still trying their best.

This is such an devastating event. Why is this happening to us?
Hope there would still be more help for those who really need them.
Let's pray for our other countrymen.
And hope this thing won't happen again.

Due to the devastating effects of typhoon Ondoy, thousand of Filipino families are left homeless. Not just that, many of their family members also died due to the accompanying events that happened.

The aftermath of this life-changing phenomena will forever be remembered by everyone. And the best thing we can do is to pray for our fellow citizens and donate what we can give. It would also be a great help to volunteer ourselves in rescue missions.

Our university, University of the Philippines - Baguio, had a continuous donation drive on all corners of the school. Some of us donated cash while some donated goods and clothing. It as such a nice feeling to give help to those who are really in need right now.

Unfortunately, though it seems that many have not recovered yet, another typhoon, Pepeng, is on its way. Classes were suspended by lunchtime yesterday.

So far, the only thing we can do is to share some acts of kindness and to offer a sincere prayer for everyone. All of these will pass... hopefully in no time...

I just remember, it was just yesterday that i was talking to some people here at the College of Social Sciences' Dean's Office (Ms. Thea, Ate Lean, Manang Jen) about mobile phones and about our relatives who text and forgets to text us. I was just sharing that my dad don't have a phone since he's just staying at home.

And just a few moments ago (around 11am today), I received a message from my Mom telling me to text my Dad because he got a new phone. Haha...

I already texted him. Kaso di pa nagrereply eh.
I think I have to wait more minutes. He doesn't like texting much. He prefers calls. Rich!

...since I was just able to go home here in Tarlac for a few days, I was able to have a nice internet access.

Pero...

....since paalis na rin ako mamaya, it seems that I'm back to reality.

Actually, I really don't want to go back to Baguio yet. But i have no choice. Class would resume tomorrow. Thanks to the extended vacation due to the celebration of Baguio's Centennial Year.

In accordance with this, I'm sure it would be difficult for me to update my blogsite. But i would still try my best to visit it when i can. Bad this is that i don't have internet in my boarding house and i can only access it in our school (na minsan ang bagal naman) and in NetCafes (na ang gastos in return).

But i hope you guys would still visit my site. Keep on rocking guys!

home at last...

It's a nice feeling that i was able to go home here at Tarlac after almost 3months of stay at Baguio City. Right after my class yesterday morning, Ate Mia and I went to SM to buy some stuff. When i reached my boarding house, i ate my lunch and began to pack my things...and i was ready to go.

The bad thing was that the rain began to pour really (as in really) hard after i was outside. And i cannot go back. So i was extreamly soaked when i reached Victory Liner. I bought a ticket by 2:40pm and the bus got moving 5mins later.

Nakakapagod ang byahe. As usual. Tapos for 4 hours i wasn't able o say a single word, except mung sinabi ko sa kundoktok kung saan ako bababa (na di rin naman nasunod).

Sison bus stop. Di naman ako bumababa.

All the way, paputol-putol ang ulan. Kala ko wala nang ulan sa Tarlac pero ang lakas-lakas pala. Kainis. And bumama ako lagpas ng dapat kong babaan. Pero ok lang. Badtrip lang talaga yung malakas na ulan kagabi.

Then nagcommute pa ako uli pauwi sa town namin.
Pag-uwi, sinalubong ako nila Mama ang Papa and my brothers. Ayun, sa wakas rest mode na ako. Feeling princess kasi dito. Go lang gumising na late at kumain anytime. Complete amenities.

Nakita ko rin sa church yung HS chums kong sina Inah and Onah. Kami-kami rin naman ang nagkikita-kita sa 4th mass kaya di na ako magtataka na sila pa rin makikita ko dun.

At eto ang pinakagusto ko - internet. Wala kasi nio sa Baguio. Meron naman actually pero sa school (sa library or comsci lab) or sa NetCafe na ang mahal-mahal naman. Bui pa dito libre lang.

Hay,,,sarap talaga ng feeling. Buti na lang walang pasok bukas and Baguio Day sa susunod. I'm sure ang next na uwi ko kasi sa sembreak na. Nothing can beat this feeling. There is really no place like home!

Hmmm..di ako sure kung interesting 'tong mga 'to eh, pero anyways, I'll just cite random stuffs ha..

4. Corny na entry 'to ha. Just wanna state that my favorite color is blue. Basta yun.

5. I love listening to music, pero di ako singer. Gusto ko lang talaga makinig and kumanta kahit di ako musically-gifted. Crush ko si Yael of Sponge Cola kahit maraming nang-aaway sa kanya. I also love Parokya niu Edgar, Urbandub, Pupil, Simple Plan, Coldplay, Linkin' Park, Lifehouse, The Script, Greenday, ...and many, many more!

6. I hate the rain. I really, really do! Marami ditong blogs that would prove that. Ang gloomy kasi. Tapos ang boring, di makalabas. Ayoko rin kasing nababasa ang paa, shoes, legs and pants ko. Ayun. And madilim. I'm literally sad kung umuulan. Sorry ha.

Let's help save Lives: Donate Blood to Red Cross

Kahapon lang, after ng Econ 141 class ko, nag-fill-up ako ng form and nagpacheck-up sa clinic. Good thing, approved naman ang health ko. Why? I want to donate some blood.

Kaya di na ako nagduty ng hapon.

This bloodletting is an annual project of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) in cooperation with the Philippine National Red Cross. At first, ayaw sana ng university doctor kasi slightly kulang yung weight ko required weight. Dapat at least 110 lbs., eh 103 lbs. lang daw ako. Poor me. Pero sinabi ko naman na kaya ko (I suppose..) and given na almost 5'2" naman yung height ko, pinayagan na rin ako.

So i proceed sa location and pinilit pa rin magrelax para sa bloodtyping ko. First time eh. Sabi nila nasakit yun. Buti na lang mabilis lang. Di ko talaga tinignan yung daliri ko na tinusok ng mabilis para natest yung dugo. At eto pa, Type B pala ako. All these time, akala ko Type O, yun din kasi yata nakasulat sa birth certificate ko. Yun din nakasulat sa lahat ng IDs and documents ko. Oh my!

Before 4pm, nirerelax ko na yung sarili ko. We were almost the last batch yesterday. Nakakaloka pa kasi ang dami nilang naghanap ng vein ko na pwedeng kunan ng dugo. Manipis daw kasi veins ko. Then, tinanong ko naman kung pano na kung ganun, aty sabi, "Mas malaki yung needle sa vein." O-M-G! Pero ok lang. Go pa rin!

So basta pinasikipan ko yung tali sa right arm ko at nagrequest ako sa isa pang volunteer dun na hawwakan ako ng mahigpit sa left hand para di ko masyadong maramdaman yung pagtusok ng karayom. Ilang seconds lang, ayun...relax na uli.
Ang bilis daw ng blood flow. Good. Di naman pala ganun kasakit unlike what i've expected.

After mapuno yung blood bag ng 450ml, rest na konti and umuwi na pagkatapos. It's a nice feeling. Try nyo rin.

Donate blood.
Save lives.

Imagine kung may Facebook na nung time ni Rizal and the rest of the gang...

...last Tuesday, the exam results of my Econ 106 (Mathematical Economics) {most difficult exam i had, so far} was given by our Prof, Ma'am Gladys.

Good news: Yes. I passes the exam.

Bad news: Sh*t! I lost a lot of points due to a wrong transfer of equations. The positive sign became negative, thus, making the rest of my solutions a big, wild mess.

Ok. Pumasa ako. Pero sayang pa rin yung points. I should have gotten more points for those wasted items. I hate my self for that.

Moral Lesson according to Prof. Astudillo:
(something like this, kasi sinabi lang din sa'kin to eh...)

Yeeesssss! Very true, di ba?

Today is the scheduled date of my Econ 121 1st long exam. It took us so much effort to study the lessons. After my class last Saturday morning, we had a group review 'til late in the evening on Ate Lean's crib.

A large part of the exam would be calculation because it is more on banking and finance (we looked like accountancy students).

and many, many more!

I almost didn't have time to sleep last night. Exam would be 4 - 6pm.

Bago ako pumunta sa school kaninang umaga, may nakita na ako agad na mga banners na nagsasabing, No to CHA-CHA, No to Con-As, etc. Because of this, I felt na seryosong rallies na naman ang magiging dahilan ng traffic, lalo na sa Metro Manila.

Well, alam ko namang importante sa ngayon ang SONA, lalo pa't ang dami-daming issues na binabato sa administration, pero, di ko lang alam bakit tinamad akong manood. Kasi naman alam ko ring may summary 'to mamaya sa news. At ang highlight: ang bilang ng palakpak kay Gloria - Palakpak para sa mga bagay na insignificantly done, masabi lang na may nagawa s'ya at may mga balak pa s'ya para sa Pilipinas.

I'm not sure pero parang nagplaplastikan na lang silang lahat. Yung mga supporters nya, either talagang sa kanya kumakampi noon pa, or sa kanya na lang dumidikit to feed their personal interests. Kanya-kanyang paraan lang yan.

And the opposition: Ayun. Continuous pa rin ang battle agains what they think about her and her toxic governance.

Last week lang, ang USC (University Stuident Council) sa UP Baguio ay nagset-up ng funeral-type setting sa lobby. Para kay Gloria. For her Lies. Aginst CHA-CHA. For Democracy. Against her tactics.

By Friday, nagkaron pa ng program about this. (Pero di ako sumali. Wala lang uli.)

My Humanities class a few hours ago was just alright. We had a quiz, some discussions and group activity.

We were divided into 8 groups where a piece of literature to identify as a poem or not. All of which are presented to the class in the form of a song (kasi kantanga naman), music videos included. The pieces are:

While being bothered the past days about the continuous rainy and cloudy skies, this morning sun assured me that there's no need to fret. Yes, dahil doon, I was able to see the solar eclipse habang nasa duty (Student Assistant kasi ako sa college namin) at pinapunta sa Institute of Management. Merong ilang employees na tumitingin at may hawak silang film. Eh napadaan naman daw ako, ayun pinasilip sa'kin.

Ako naman, parang bata kasi first time ko nga nakakita ng ganun. Kahit di total eclipse, ok na rin...at least nawitness ko yun kahit papano - the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century...=)

I've read By the River Piedra I sat Down and Wept, The Zahir and The Pilgrimage as well... I actually have a copy of those books... eh since wala pa akong The Alchemist, binasa ko muna before deciding to buy... Eh ok lang naman,,,so kung may sobra sa allowance, saka na lang ako bibili. Actually nasimulan ko na ring basahin yung The Devil and Miss Prym... may book kasi akong tinago sa ibang shelves para mabalikan ko pa uli..haha.. Kasi yun na yung last copy nung huli akong tumingin eh...

So goodluck na lang sa trip kong 'to.

At least, kung makapagdecide na akong di ako bibili, nabasa ko na sila ng libre...haha..

Why do we tend to be afraid of something we haven't experienced or done yet?

Why do we try to resist change?

Why is it difficult to turn our backs from something that is there all the way though we knew that it ain't doin' us nothing good in the present?

And what is it that controls out mindset that says we're better-off once we continue our lives by going through our own usual norms?

Dahil doon, nakapagpatuyo ako ng mga sampay at nakapunta sa school (kasi may mga bagay na tinapos about group reportings and sa Salakniban) ng hindi nababasa for the first time. Tapos ngayon makulimlim na naman. And paulan-ulan pa. Super girly pa naman ako ngayon with matching mini skirts. Hay.....

...yan ang sigaw ng Student Council, iba't ibang organizations and students na sumali sa malawakang walk-out kahapon habang nililibot nila ang buong university at naghihikayat ng iba pa na makisali. Nakakabinging nga pito na halos nag-eecho na sa tenga ko kahit nakalagpas sa sila sa Secretary's Office sa CSS kung nasan ako nung mga oras na yun. "Walk-out! Walk-out! Walk-out! Walk-out!" May post din pala na sinabing magsuot ng pula. So ayun, ang dami ngang naka-red kahapon...at and dami ding di sinasadyang nakapagsuot ng red. Pero ako, para maiba naman, blue ang jacket na suot ko. Haha... Terno kami nila Sir Ang.

Though di ako nakasama kasi may duty ako kahapon sa CSS, pinaniniwalaan ko naman yung pinaglalaban nila. During the whole week, ang daming posts sa school and announcements para mahikayat kahat ng mga estudyante na sumama. May mga pinamigay pa ngang whistles na nakaplastic at may papel sa loob na nagsasabing:

"Ipito mo, hinaing mo....."

Basta may iba pang nakasulat na nagsasabing inaasahan nila na tutumog ang pitong ito bawat 11:09 ng umaga bilang protesta kontra CHA-CHA...basta ganun yung concept.

Kaso naisip ko lang, di na rin yun nagmukhang walk-out (ooooops, SC peeps and friends and everyone, chillax lang ha...) ang nangyari kasi nagcancel na rin ng classes yung nga Profs and instructors. So parang red-bannered rally/parade yung nangyari kasi in the first place, di rin naman pumasok yung mga students...(Buti na lang 2 lang subjects ko kahapon, Econ 141-research break, at MS 11-group meet lang for presentation on Wednesday). Kasi nga may teacher na rin na nagsabi, "You cannot walk-out unless you've walked in." Tama nga naman...

Di ko sure kung gano katagal nangyaru yung walk-out ang kung san sila nakarating. Sabi kasi ng friend kong SC na si Mark, lalabas daw ng school and pupunta somewhere at tatagal daw hanggang 4pm yun. Kaso naman umulan nung bandang hapon kaya di ko na rin alam kung ano na nga yung nangyari.

Di ko naman napanuod yung news pero sabi ng housemate ko, napaTV daw yun sa ABS-CBN Northern-Luzon and pinakita yung walk-out sa buong school. Sana lang makaaboy kay Glorya 'tong mga ganitong movements. Sana lang di masayang ang effort ng marami. Sana lang di natuloy ang CHA-CHA.

...Well, pinapauna ko na...bihira lang ang ganitong moments for me. Pano ba naman, lagi na lang may ginagawa. Lalo na ngayong mas nagiging busy na sa school. And additional work pa na dalawa lang kami ng friend kong si Elaine na may minor na Psychology sa Humanities class namin - ang mga discussions kasi namin ngayon on short stories ay human behavior-related... so, kailangan namin i-explain sa class yung FREUDian and JUNGian approach nung situations sa stories next meeting... oh my!

Anyways, balik sa original kong tanong...
Ano nga ba?

Since bihira lang maging di busy, pinaka-enjoy ko nang gawin yung matulog. At matulog pa. Lalo na dito sa Baguio ngayon, ulan ng ulan. Di naman makagala.

Syempre, trip ko din naman magbasa kaya nga marami akong blogs about sa mga natapos kong basahing books. Samahan pa ng music. Nakakarelax kasi pag nakikinig ako ng music... kahit di ako talented sa singing, who cares... buhay ko 'to no.

Nga pala, masarap din kumain... at kumain ng kumain... yun eh kung may kakainin. Dito kasi ngayon ok pa naman ang supply ko ng food. Kung di kasi nakapaggrocery, parang nakakawalang gana ring mag-aral..and mabuhay. Food for the life and soul!

Or TV... eh since may cable naman... nood lang hanggang antukin.

And ang pinakanamimiss ko sa lahat... yung internet na unlimited. Dito kasi, ang access ko lang sa library and internet room (kung san tinanggal ang access sa social networking sites, buti na lang may blogger pa rin) at sa nga net cafe sa labas na sobrang mahal kasi di naman ako sanay ng 2hrs lang nakaharap sa computer. Chat til you drop!

Kaso wala eh. Lalo na talaga yung internet. Demanding kasi talaga ngayon ang studies sa oras ko. Feeling ko nga i'm not living a normal life anymore. Pero ganito talaga. I chose to be here kaya I need to live with it. Hay... konting tiis pa.

though there are a lot of things to be done in school...
something in my life here makes me feel sort of incomplete...
it's because I'm not reading any book right before...
so i headed to National Bookstore and Booksale to look for books...

and i got RIGHT BEHIND YOU by Gail Giles last Thursday...

i found the story somehow touching...
it captures the innocence of a child... and the deep cut that was caused by his mother's early death.
it shown a dash of anger and maybe envy... which led Kip, who was forced to change his identity to Wade, to live for 4 years in a mental hospital for therapy...

they they transferred to different places as unlikely things happened... and as Wade continues his soul-searching... as he tried not to feed his "hungry ghosts" as his shrink said.

it was a really nice story...
it gave good insights about the real life...

you should read this too...
I've got no regrets in buying it.

It's our first official day of class in MS 11 this day. It's because Sir Amor got sick last week after leaving the country the weekend before that.

Well, initially I felt nervous since I didn't know what to expect - except for the recitation/ active participation part (I really don't like talking in front of my classmates, as in yung recitation mode). But after Sir's warm welcome and as he discussed the syllabus and the introduction to the course, I felt more relaxed. Lucky for me kasi may sense of humor si Sir. The class is never boring. And I felt more confident to answer his questions.

Hope that this confidence would last until the end of the sem.

It's a shocking news indeed.
We woke up and the news that the King of Pop already passed away buzzed all over. He died at the age of 50... obviously he doesn't look that old and you already know why.

Well, life goes on for me. I'm not a fan of his and I'm not actually affected by his death. I don't even know why I'm blogging this despite the known fact that all of us will perish someday somehow. That is just the uncertainty of it. We don't know when and why and how exactly. But we surely have our own chances of meeting him (if we like to). But hopefully not now. And not even soon.

This is my first time to have a regular semester class on a Saturday morning. Actually, it's from 9am to 12 noon. We'll be sitting at CSS 203 for 3 hours listening to the lessons on Monetary Economics (Econ 121). The good this is that our professor is Prof. Ben Tapang.

We has our first class last week and I think it was good. Sir Ben already retired
around 2 years ago but he returned due to insistent academic demand. (Wala kasing ibang available to teach this course, in short, there are no other applicants as he said.)

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, my classes are:

Econ 106 (Mathematical Economics) 8:30-10:00 am
Psych 180 (Social Psychology) 10:00-11:30 am
Hum 1 (Reading Literature) 1:00-2:30 pm.

On Wednesdays and Fridays, my classes are:

MS 11 (Media Studies) 11:30-1:00 pm
Econ 141 (International Economics) 1:00-2:30 pm

As you can see, I only spend 3 hours of classes on Wednesdays and Fridays which gives me a lot of time to do something more (except for these first weeks of the semester where we spend much of our time queuing in the library just to have volumes of readings to be photocopied.)

This is why a few moments ago, I decided to submit an application letter as a student assistant in our college. I'm hoping to earn additional income as an extra allowance. I hope I would be hired.

I believe I can still manage my studies despite being "employed" as one.

Police cousin dropped by, saw him after almost a decade!

..while i was finishing Death on the Diagonal this afternoon, an official ride having guys who wore army-type clothing stopped in front of our house. Then a man in uniform stepped down and entered through our gate without knocking. I almost stood up to ask what he wants or why was he here or who was he. But then, when this guy as almost a few steps from our door, Papa recognized him as my cousin - the son of his late brother.

And then I realized that he was indeed Kuya Dos (Ramon Villa II). He said that they accompanied Congressman Antonino, whom I saw later on the prime time news.

Well, I thought they were some kind of an army or something like that.

Dad came out to talk o him and my brother called my Aunt so she could talk to him as well.

I'm now an incoming 3rd year college student, and I think the last time I saw him when when i was only Grade IV. Around 9-10 years had passed. We had a graduation picture of him kept somewhere (inserted in a photo album, i guess). And maybe that pic is more than 10years old now. But i know his facial features haven't changed much. He still looked the same. Cute, round face. Always with a smile, like Uncle Ramon.

His comrades also stepped out of their vehicle and talked to Papa and Auntie as well. They just had a short chat. Good thing, they passed our house on their way back. That gave him the slight opportunity to drop by.

He also gave me his number (maybe Papa said so) but i think it's good have a contact with a cousin whom I haven't spoken yet, actually.

After a while, they bid goodbye and continued their way home.

Well, Pop was indeed happy to see him. Even for a while.

After reading this book twice, this in the first time that I would write something about this endless vamp love story.

Er, I don’t know where to start. There’s just so much to say.

After all the strife to be together, finally Edward and Bella managed to get married – a really grand one since Alive took over this event. Then they had their honeymoon at Isle Esme – an island which is a gift from Carlisle to Esme. They allowed the newly-wed to use the island as much as they wanted. And yeah, they did it. The first one left Bella terribly bruised (and the furniture too) but she insisted on doing it again. This time, it’s better because they already knew what to expect. Haha.

After a couple of weeks, the unexpected happened. Bella was delayed. So they rushed their way back to Forks. Carlisle examined her and confirmed her pregnancy. Oh no!

They really didn’t know that this was possible at all. Edward wanted to get IT out of her but Bella wanted to keep him. They tried everything to convince her about it but they failed. Edward even asked Jacob to try, but he wasn’t good enough to persuade her as well. During these days, they’ve done researches about her situation, hoping to find solutions.

Due to this, they were now in danger - the Volturi. They didn’t understand what’s happening.
What’s inside Bella was killing her already. It grows really fast up to the point that it broke some ribs and her pelvic bones in just a matter of days. She was calling him EJ – Edward Jacob – and said it would be Renesme – Renee + Esme – if she would be a baby girl. They just couldn’t detect her gender but Edward can hear what she was saying even if he’s still inside her. And that thing inside her already loves her. Bella is becoming weak. Her body is rejecting all the nutrition they’re giving her. So there was another idea – feed her blood. This might be what the baby wants.

And Bella would do anything for the child – even if drinking blood is the only way – a preparation for being a blood sucker, she said. Shockingly, the taste of blood doesn’t seem bad for her at all.

The time came. She felt that the baby was coming out. It almost ripped Bella to death. She felt a burning phenomenon. She underwent deep pain while trying to save her baby. At the very instant, the Cullens tried their best to keep Bella alive, or existing. Edward done the procedures expertly – a do or die situation.

And it was a baby girl. Renesme. All throughout, Jacob has been with them, plus Sam and everyone. They are allies now. Bella had been asleep for days and woke up as a new-born vampire. She saw Edward and touched his hand – surprised that she didn’t felt cold. Only then that she realized that they share almost the same body temperature now. She’s now immortal.
She looked for her baby and they said that it’s not a good time to see her. She might hurt the child due to her condition. Rosalie and Jacob take turns on carrying the baby.

(Fast Forward)

Because Alice saw something about the arrival of the Volturi in their place to check the child a little more than a month after she had given birth, the Cullens thought of something they could do. They tried to contact as many covens. This is the same moment that Alice left them – maybe on a mission or something – maybe to escape. This made Bella terribly sad.

Many of the expected vampires arrived and Nessie showed them that the Cullens didn’t break their promise of not creating an immortal child; that she was half-mortal, half-immortal; that her heart beats and she grows; that she was conceived by Bella while she was still human and that Edward is her biological father.

Nessie showed them the truth, well, most of them. Some just don’t want to go near her. Theywere just there to stand as witnesses and to fight the Volturi, if needed.

They realized that Bella possessed so much control over herself. She can hold her child like a normal mom. Renesme has her own talent as well – when you look into her eyes, she can tell you something, or maybe SHOW is a better word, like what you need to know and what she feels. She hadn’t even lost her feelings, but she is definitely stronger now. She also discovered that Jacob imprinted on Nessie – as he calls her. She just couldn’t believe it!

In preparation, they also trained themselves in case the Volturi won’t listen. Bella also want to take part so she was trained. This was the part where they discovered that her power was to be a shield. That’s why Edward can’t read her thoughts. So they tried to train her to project this power. They tried to see if she can protect other people aside from herself. And it progressed. After days of training, she can now project a seemingly elastic shield up to a distance of 10 feet.

The day came. They lined in the place where they would meet. They negotiated with the Volturi. Carliste. Aro. Edward. It was a peaceful talk. Unexpectedly peaceful. Bella used her power and protected her family and everyone with them. Good thing the ones on the other side couldn’t see this shield because another one in their group deceived the eyes of those on the Volturi’s side.
Aro requested for Nessie and saw in her eyes that she was not really an immortal child. No need to argue about it. No need to fight. It was just a false alarm from Irina, which was punished by death from flames. Her sisters (on the Cullen side) couldn't accept what happened to they tried to seek revenge. Good thing they were stopped by the vampires with them.

But there was still a question. Since the baby was growing rapidly, how will her life be? She’s just barely a month old but she already looks like a couple times older. Plus her mental ability develops really fast as well. This was where Alice entered the scene having two companions with her. The young boy explains it all. He was also half-human, half-vampire; ripped her mom to death, like what her sisters done with their moms as well. He was around 150 years old now (sorry, I’m not really sure if I remember the right figures) but he stopped growing at a certain age.

So everything was clear now, the Cullens could have Nessie. She would grow for some more years.

One by one, their visitors excused themselves and headed home. They were now at peace, even with the Volturi. Edward and Bella and Nessie are all alive, er, existing happily together forever. They were now relieved. No one will bother them now. They’re back in their house in the forest – a birthday gift for Bella from the Cullens – and began their forever in each others arms. A true happily ever after.

Such a very long story. Stephenie Meyer really did great in this one. Nice twists. Really thrilling. Many things happened unexpectedly. Everything fell perfectly in their proper places. Bella to Edward, and Renesme with them. I’m just sad the story has ended already. Well, it really hasn’t but I’m still hoping some more. But the story really made me feel every emotion until the end. I have no regrets on buying the books. I’m just hoping that the future movies would justify what was written on the book, hope they would never fail me.

I don’t know why, but I couldn't’t get myself to sleep last night. Maybe because of the temperature – it was raining hard when I decided to rest. I tried to have my share of the blanket from my soon-to-be-11-year-old brother. He was sound asleep. Snoring.

I said my prayer. I closed my eyes. It’s all black now. Void.

I thought I was asleep. I looked at my phone, 3:15am. I realized I hadn’t slept yet. I tried to relax my mind. The clock is ticking. I can see some light from the corner of the room. I just can’t.
I looked at my phone once again. Five minutes before 4:00. Early morning. Everyone’s gonna be up soon and I haven’t got my sleep yet. I still hadn’t been in my dreams.

Insomniac?

No I’m not. I just don’t know. This happened very rare. And I hate it. Sleep. Sleep. Damn it, you need to sleep now. I was irritated. I closed my eyes again and remember nothing after that.

Totoo daw. She said it was announced by CHED a while ago - nationwide daw - due to the Influenza A(H1N1) virus. Gosh!

I'm not really sure kasi di pa ako nanunuod ng TV and i'm not sure kung happy ako or hindi...

Longer vacation for me pero sayang naman ung rent sa boarding house...haha..

I just can't handle this. Malapit na start ng classes. I'm still here in Tarlac. Back to Baguio the next day (*sobs*).

Ang ang nakakainis pa, ulan na lang ng ulan. Ok lang sana kung nap time eh. Kaso hindi, you can't almost see the roads and pavements dry! As I'm always saying, I just hate he rain! Well, debatable naman kaso most of the time ganito talaga ako. Alam 'to ng friends ko. Ganito talaga ako mag-react. Naiinis ako kasi nalulungkot ako kung umuulan.

Feels like I can do nothing good.

Smoke and Mirrors, by Neil Gaiman

After being my "break-time book," I finally finished reading all the short stories on Neil Gaiman’s Smoke and Mirrors. It’s just so nice to read his creations. He’s just one of the most unique authors of today. His creativity sent me to another realm of thoughts – somewhere to a new dimension.

I guess, his style of writing really helped in drawing attention and loyalty to millions of his readers all around the globe. He’s just unpredictable. His words just work without question.
His style of giving his compilation of short fictions and illusions their sad endings is a rare thing – rare thing to really look good at all – that’s why I like him.

And some tales are open-ended, leaving you with your imagination to fill the last part with whatever you like. Some stories made me question why?, and some made me just as mad. But in the end, I can’t believe that I liked a particular story that way.

He’s just good at it. Can’t explain how good, how brilliant, how great. I’m totally out of words. Then I began to appreciate the value of specificity in everything – which even what seemed to be nothing at all can be of real interest, indeed.
Hope to explore another world with Anansi Boys – another book of his. I just began reading it after Smoke and Mirrors. And I’ll update you about it soon.

After waiting for something big to happen, good thing ABS-CBN gave him a break by making him one of the lead actors of their new show - KATORSE - with Erich and EJ.

He's been one of my crushes a couple of years now. I think he started as a teen model.

I really prayed that he would make it in this industry. So now, being a member of the Star Magic Family, i'm hoping to see him more often.

Hmmmmm...

I know he's one of the hotties to look forward to this coming season.

And i know he can prove to be good at it -- not just a cute face, but someone who bears the talent to be a star,..

HOW YOU LOSE: gave me more boredom that expected

This is the last book i finished reading. A creation of J. C. Amberchele.

Actually, it was just an easy read but it turned out o be webbed with lives of people connected to this one and that - all happening at different time frames.

The story is such of someone with twisted faith.

Melody remembered the day when someone - Alex - entered their house looking for a safe. He asked Melody and her father about it but both denied the existence of any of its kind in their property. After this, Alex, masked with something, only revealing his deep, blue eyes, pulled the trigger which instantly killed Me;'s dad and left her skull wounded. He didn't knew she was still alive. His brother took care of her until she was well enough to go on her own.

Mel continues her awful life, having nightmares and lots of questions in her mind.

WHY?

She traveled in different places and began to write a book. She met a lot of people.

After 13 years, she decided to visit Alex. Many things had changed. The times had passed but the memory lingers still.

She went to ask Alex about his intention (knowing beforehand that he got the wrong house, it's not their house that had the safe) of killing them. Despair? Fear? Anger? She also knew that Alex couldn't talk (since he was a child, after his father beat him). She didn't know what to do. After her monologue, she decided to leave. But before that, she looked Alex in the eyes and saw a pale, blue aura in him. The eyes that shown her exhaustion over the strife for surviving.

She went home.

I woke up around 5:30am..wow..sobrang aga..i can't believe i just made it. After using the heater and finished preparing the stuffs to wear, I took a bath and finished in 15minutes. I dressed, ate breakfast, brushed my teeth and walked to the school.

7:30am
We were in a queue to get our clearances...

8:00
The office opened. i got my clearance and found out that i had an accountability in the dorm. Gosh! Our building is really, really sort like "underworld" in the university because there's this 'abortion stairs' which we first need to pass through. Well, it's easy the way down, but the ascent is hell. Still, my friend, Jenica, and I rushed our way out to proceed to the dorm. We waited for about 10mins. and paid something at the office there. Now back to the school.

A very long, crowded line of Juniors could be seen when we arrived. Of course, we were almost at the back. The line hadn't moved yet. This is for the CRS results for the admission.

After this, another stop in alone of the rooms for advising. In less than 3omins. I got my turn. I raced to the JL Auditorium to get 2 more subjects only to find out that what i was looking for were both closed. Good thing i saw a friend who as about to cancel his Econ 106 slot and gave it to me. The pother subject, Hum 1, I was able to enlist due to the teacher's prerogative (but i needed to proceed to the CAC building first). I was so tired.

Then, i filled my Form 5 and went back to my adviser, Sir Toto. And up to the Audi again. I had my subjects checked and assessed. Then paid at the cashier. Then got my class cards.

I was able to finish all the processes before lunch time. So i was able to go home to Tarlac on the afternoon.

So, my subjects for the coming semester are:

Econ 106
Econ 121
Econ 141
Psych 180
Hum 1
Media Studies 11

All subjects scattered from Tuesday to Saturday. Hoping this sem would be great as the previous ones.

In just a few minutes, I'll be going back to Baguio again to get prepared for my enrolment tomorrow. I still don't wanna go. But i need to get my things from the dorm and carry them back to my boarding house.
Another 5 hours of travel. Hope to catch a bus as early as possible. I still have to go to the university to get mt clearance and ask my scholarship bracket.

Hay...

I'm heading Baguio on June 1. I still need top go back to the dorm and get my things there so that i can fix my stuffs to our original boarding house again.The next day would be our enrolment (Juniors). I just can't believe that I will be on third year this coming semester. Time burns really fast. Really fast. I hope i can have it fast-forwarded.

I'm just beginning to feel my less-than-two-week vacation right now and I'm feeling sad that class will open again soon...

I'm wishing that vacation would stretch for more days...

(and I'm also fearing the spread of Influenza A (H1N1) virus in the Cordilleras, but i know the DOH is doing something to prevent this from happening again...=) )

Sabi nya may nakita daw sya... Well, di naman na yun unusual dito. Since then kasi alam naman na namin na open ang 3rd eye ni Papa. Mula nung bata pa sya, may mga nakikita na daw sya (and nakakausap) na elements.

Hmmm....

It just happens that i'm reading a lot these days, no wonder why my blogs are mostly book reviews here and there.

Well, since i have nothing much to do while I'm having my short break after my summer class and before the new academic year opens its door, i think reading is the only thing that would keep me occupied and alive (of course, Internet is an exception).

And since i also brought home my newly bought books, i have no choice but to finish reading them. So now, I'm up for another book, er, books actually. I started on Boy Still Missing by John Searls and Some Kind of a Hero by Donna Hay, and i found both a little boring based on their introductions. So I put them down.

And now, I'm reading Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn again (from Little, Brown Book Group)Just some sort of a light reading with a brush of romance and thrill to shake my mind away from the previous mystery stories I recently got. I'm back to the fifth chapter, i guess. But even though i already know what would happen next, i still can't help myself from reading Edward and Bella's sweet conversation of love. Oh how sweeeeeeet!

I just love 'em.

I finished reading this book by Mary Jane Maffini after i think 3 days of noncontinuous browsing through it. At first, it was really boring and slow-paced. So i decided that i will read it for the sake of finishing this one. It is understandable since she's just new in the scene. Well, I just bought it because i trust its publication - the Berkley Prime Crime Publishing House. This publication also publishes for some other authors that i love like Nero Blanc (one of my favorites) and Charlaine Harris.

The story of Charlotte Adams, a professional organizer, as she was used by her former teacher, Ms. Helen "Hellfire" Henley, was really a conspiracy and one of great planning.

Despite the boring introduction, the story got hot when the twists began to boggle my mind. As i suspected it to be, the prime suspect of all the mysteries and killings would be the one you would never, never expect. This is why i really adore Berkley Mystery publications. And yet, it still made me shocked of the real persons behind the plot of evens that made Charlotte's life miserable. But even if Pepper (her used-to-be bestfriend) made things a lot worse, through the help of her best buddies, Sally and Jack, plus Lilith, Ms. Rose, Truffle and Sweet Marie, she was able to surpass all the accusations and intrigues thrown onto her.

I guess, all the spice and excitement was locked on the last 4 chapters of this book. It was fired with rush and the thrill that i've been waiting for. Hellfire blew her cover at this point. She indeed concealed her identity very well. And she's really a BITCH because of that (excuse my language please)!

But, it was still a nice read...
But not as nice as the ones i previously had.

This is the last book I was able to finish reading.

Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris.

It was really a nice book. Though the mystery in it is very light, the story still managed o make me think of the possible events that really took place. Harper Conelly and Tolliver Tang really did well as partners. Tolliver is such a caring and protective (half) brother for Harper. I liked how he made his sister feel secuted when he was around.

Harper's ability to find DEAD bodies and know their way of death indeed put her to a position where many people doubted her 'gift' and believed it came from the devil. But this is how they live. A somehow, this is her way of helping the dead.

Indeed, i want to praise Ms. Harris for such a nice plot. The book will keep you awake until you reach its final pages.
Read this for yourself. Sure it's worth it.

Today is my father's birthday... As usual, kahit papano, we are trying to celebrate each other's birthday kasi it's a gift from God - being able to survive another year and opening the door to a new year of challenges for all of us.

And ang goal ko lang naman ngayon ay sana di ma-bad trip si Papa sa'kin this day...haha... And it seems na nangyari naman kahit medyo naiinis s'ya kasi nanunuod ako kanina ng MYX... puro na lang daw tugtog... useless daw... sayang daw kuryente...haha... pero it's ok..

I know he is happy this day... though he is not so vocal about it.
And I am happy for him as well...

He's be best Papa in the whole world.

...After my bet - Danny Gokey - didn't make it to the top..i believe it's a good thing that it was Kris who got the title...
I didn't like Adam from the very start, actually..

I bet, the last season is far more phenomenal than this one...

first time in SAGADA...and i loved it!!!! really loved it!!!!

...It was for our last class meeting actually... for my PE2 class (Outdoor Recreation) with Sir Florendo,..at Sagada, Mountain Province -- my first time to reach his place.
We rode a bus and travelled the rough and curvy dirt road for a totally sleepless 6-hour drive.
It was really exhausting since I'd always got head bumps from left to right.

Around lunch time, we were able to reach our inn. We settled for a while - relaxed, change our clothes, ate our lunch and rest for a few hours. Then we made our way to Sumaguing Cave. We walked until we reached the St. Mary the Virgin Parish...took some pictures and started moving again.

Walk. Walk. Walked to the slope. In the road.

Passing countless stores, restaurants ans inns.

It was really a long walk.

Exhausting as I would describe it.

Literally.

Walk. Walk. Walk. And more walk.

Houses. Pine trees. Tourists.

Then it began to rain a little...

then it grew stronger.

But we kept our pace.

I think we walked around 5 kilometers. I'm not really sure. I'm bad at estimates.

When we reached the cave entrance, we grouped ourselves.

But first, we gathered at the opening to have a brief history of then place.
It was discovered decades ago and they said that Sumaguing Cave is the largest cave in the Philippines... and it was really great to have known that fact!

Then we had our line which was lead by Sir Florendo followed by our group. The guides said that the slowest should go first to decide our phasing. So here we go!!!

At the first part, it was so slippery we needed to help each other out. The stones and steps were slippery because of mud. And as the other ones, this cave have lots of bats on the ceiling... undoubtedly making the area sting. It's like there were tiny Batmans hanging above us!

When we reached the interior of the cave, we put our slippers off and began our spelunking with bare feet. This time it was easier since the formations weren't slippery after all. It was also easier since our guides were really expert of the place, like they can jump here to there with such an ease.

You can really witness how God was so great with the magnificence of the cave - the color inside, the ice-cold, clear, flowing water , the stalagmites and stalactites, the really small holes where just one person could pass through... There were really great formations in there. I really enjoyed the scene. We were saying that we would like to live in that place... Of course, that was a joke.

It took us around 2 hours until we came out. It was such a nice experience. The cold water made me chill but it was part of the picture.

I really want to be back someday... with my family of course.

I want to show them the beauty of this cave...

plus some other tourist spots here that we were unable to explore.

We were able to travel home by 1pm the next day.

Another 6-hour travel.

And I was home at the dorm by around 7:30pm. Just on the right time.

Yes, it was exhausting.

But nothing can replace my experience there...

We made lots of happy memories in this place.

And i really look forward for my next visit here.

i finally go to finish all exams and school requiremens..
nakauwi rin ng Tarlac last night,,,
if feels so great to be home...
free food...
no sleep limits...
no assignments and readings...
wala nang unahan sa heater...
ulimited running water...
and wala nang bawal...
i love being home!!!!

Final Exam....English 1

By 5pm, I will be having my final exam -- since there are three batches due to conflict in schedule - 1pm, 3pm and 5pm -- on English which would cover all the lessons that we tackled during the whole summer. This includes sentence revisions and constructions, editing, detecting parallelisms, etc.
This would serve as our last meeting as well.

I hope to pass then exam,,,
I've been reviewing for nights for this one.
And praying that God will guide my hand to write what is correct...

So be it.

LAST Day of Summer Class

Oh...
This is the last day of summer class. And I still don't want it to end. I really enjoyed my summer here... and again, except for the daily rains.
I guess I've been enjoying since my classes were a lot of fun as well.
I'll miss my teachers and classmates...
Really...
And my roommates, too, since this is my first time to live in the dorm (with the usual sleepless night due to noisy neighboring rooms, of course). We shared a lot of funny and happy memories here.
But everything has an end.
"Sooner or later, it all comes crashing down..." like what NERD said.

Well... at least i learned so much during the 5-week term.
So now, I'm getting ready for tomorrow's field trip in Sagada, Mountain Province ans my Final Exam on Physics on Monday...

Please pray for me...

Then, I'm ready to go home...
Back to Victoria...

done with physics project...got a perfect score for it!!!

Sa wakas natapos din...
We made "something" out of straws and put a fresh egg in it.
The experiment was done a few hours ago.. during my English class, that's why i wasn't able to really see what happened. ='(
But after the class, i saw Sir Ian and asked for the grade of our group.
He said we got a perfect score...

The experiment was like this:

"Save the Egg Project"
(Egg drop)

The egg will be placed inside our "creations."
It will first be dropped from the 2nd flood of a building and will be checked whether the poor egg survived the fall.
If there were no cracks, it will proceed to the next stage... a fall from the 3rd floor.
If the egg still remain uncracked, the group would be given a passing grade.
Plus, the construction and design of the "creation" will have respective points as well...

Di kami nanalo sa design... they said the other class got this award. Anyways, at least natapos na... no more problems... Exam na lang sa Lunes... right after makabalik ng Sunday from Sagada...

Exhausting summer.... indeed!

this one is a sure page-turner...the plot was so unpredictable.the twists in the story of the characters were weaved magnificently great...Dean Koontz really never fail to amuse me.The revelations totally shocked me.There were also points were my heart was pounding so fast as i was reading the run-and-chase scenes.Moreover, the story not only tells about pure suspense and mystery bu also teaches a lesson on family-building.And this one really touched me in one way or another.I just can't explain it.Try to read it for yourself.Dean Koontz.He is really one of the bests.That's why he had been one of my favorites ever since.I really love his style, and i'm sure you will too, as soon as you have his books.

Hmmmm....
I'm really enjoying my summer classes (excluding the fact of the frequent rains).
I'm learning so much and i love it...!
I became more active and felt less nervous when it's my turn to answer some random questions even though most of the time I'm not really sure of what to say.
Like what Popoy said on the 23rd of April,

"Force yourself to think.
I know you have the answer,
you just have to let it out."

He said this when no one wanted to raise his hand to answer Sir's question. I wrote these words on my filler and read them every time I'm feeling confused.

Yeah, I guess we know the answer to most of the questions that we frequently ask ourselves or some of which that are asked by others unto us. We are just afraid of being wrong or by the concept of rejection once we utter our answers. Maybe we are just confused of what we know and what we feel. We are just confused; on the edge of self-denial. This makes things difficult for the people around us as heavily as how we sink unto them.

Maybe we just have to push ourselves more - to have more courage; to know when it's time to cross the bridge.
Our existence is accompanied by a lot of risks and doubts... we just have to know if it's the right and moral thing to continue with the current... and to keep on fighting for whatever is important to us.

I've been reading Smoke and Mirrors for weeks now. I bought my copy from National Bookstore, SM last February and just opened it this summer...
I really love Neil Gaiman and I'm trying to collect his books..
Coraline was the first book that I read from him - this was years ago. I borrowed the copy from a schoolmate.

As i was reading this one now, I got a mix of emotions from one story to the next. Maybe you were wondering why it took me so long to finish this. It's because I am not reading it continuously. If i have a break or just finished a book, I open this book and read one short story...
One piece at a time...
And I'm loving Neil Gaiman more and more...
(Plus points for the good looks despite his age... he's still cute...yeah... dangerously cute)

first time to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish...

Since I'd been to many churches here in Baguio, it was my long-time aim to visit/ attend a mass to all the Catholic churches here.
Some of the churches that i already visited are non-Catholic because of invitations from friends and schoolmates...(Iglesia ni Cristo, Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary, University Baptist Church, Victory/ Every Nation Campus Ministry ) and i like the idea of attending these churches since i also want to know how other religions conduct their masses...

Yesterday, for the first time, I attended the mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, in Kisad Road, Baguio City...
Good thing, i still found a vacant seat...then i took my place.
During the mass, I saw my blocmate Jose at the far side. He gave his seat to a lady in purple carrying a child, and stood at the back... how courteous.

I wasn't able to listen perfectly since half of the attendance were children who stood three and a half feet and below - many were running, ascending the stairs, giggling over the bridge, and as expected, some were trowing tantrums. OH dear...

But was a nice church...
Lots of people attended. I even saw some familiar faces.
I'm sure I'll bring my family here once we all got the opportunity to stay...

started reading Life Expectancy the other day///

as my nerves were totally filled with boredom and lifelessness... the drive to pick a book made me feel more productive deep within...
i started reading Life Expectancy as i arrived home from the library last rainy Saturday (i returned Illusions by Richard Bach and used the Internet)...
i really love Dean Koontz...

i started browsing the novel and now I'm halfway through it...

i can't have a continuous time in reading the book since i also have other stuffs to accomplish...
but so far, the story caught a variety of emotions in me - fear (my heart beat faster on the initial part, indeed), humor, gladness, confusion - and i expect more thrill on the other half of the story...
he has such a gifted hand and mind...
oh i wish i can share this talent!

buhay DORM...food chaos!

!!!oh noh..!!!
as i woke up around 7am kanina...
nagmadali ako na maglagay ng heater sa tubig na paligo ko sa 1st floor (by the way, i'm residing at roon 207, 2nd floor, UPBaguio Residence Hall ) kasi ang daming nakapila sa 2nd floor (as usual) hoping to have a warm bath kasi lagi na lang malamig yung paligo ko...eh pag umaga, ang lamig-lamig sa dorm...

after nun...i checked my grocery kasi i was planning to cook canton (as usual uli) for my breakfast plus some hot chocolate to pair it with...
as i was tring to find a pack of pancit canton at the SM plastic bag sa upper shelf ko...i discovered na wala na pala akong stock!

oh no talaga!

nakakainis...!
so i ended up making a hot Milo drink and eating a pack of 3-piece Presto Creams...so light...
hay....

sana makapaggrocery na ako mamaya....
di ko pa naman hobby ang magpagutom...
di kasi ako sanay ng walang kinakain kung walang magawa...
hay....
pero so far enjoy pa naman sa dorm..
di lang nga ako masyado nakakanuod kasi i prefer to read upstairs than to watch TV programs na di ko naman gusto...(pero usually come to watch the news for some updates)...

how BLIND people can see...(n_n)

I'd been walking my way home last Friday when i came to saw a line of people connected to each bother by clinging to the right shoulder of the person in from of them..
at a distant, it looked strange since they were all senior citizens i think...
as i came closer... i realized five of them are blind... the guy in the front was the one leading them as they walk and crossed the road... four old men and two old women...
isn't it just inspiring?
despite of their condition, they seemed to be happy and unbelievable comfortable of themselves...as if everything was the way it was before...
it really just tells us that the capability to see it only a dimension of our colossal cosmos.
for us, who live our life by how see it (up to some point), we would be in total mess if our visions expires within a blink of an eye...
it seems that you've been sleeping forever though you're really awake...
the curtains are down...
the lights are off...
you're imprisoned in the darkest dungeon you can imagine...
under the deep shadows of fear and frustration to escape...

if i were in their shoes,,,knock on wood... i don't think i can survive...
or it would be extremely difficult for me to adjust in any way...

but i really admire these people...
they, who despite the absence of sight, continue as if nothing has happened...
as if nothing was lost...
still enjoying every single day of waking up in the morning and living a life of contentment and simple aspirations...
i guess it's what you call

...FAITH...

i really salute these guys...
all of them who experience the same situation out there...
i really found the courage in you...

may God bless you always in every step you make...
in every day you are experiencing His grace...

Finally, I have the copy of this book - hardbound, used, but still in very good condition.
I bought it from BOOKSALE since I got interested with the topic and I saw at the back cover hoe Stephen King commented -- oh actually praise, yeah... I think that's the word -- how the author effectively wrote this book. He even stated that she is better than Cook. I had read one Cook novel and it was really great! How much more about this one?
I'm really excited to finish Life Expectancy...
next target... Gravity, of course.

Mother's Day tomorrow...

but pink is not our favorite color, mine is blue and hers is green...

well, i will not be spending Mother's Day with her for the first time because i'm here in Baguio for my summer class (which doesn't really seem to be summer at all due to the RAINS!!).

hope she'll have a nice and memorable day tomorrow...
i'll just be whispering my sweet prayer for her like what i'm always doing for all of them...
